A reminder as Fall cleanup is about to take place:  It is a violation of the rules to put leaf and yard debris in the lake.  Please make sure you are bagging and hauling to the roadside or dump. If you have a cleanup company please make sure they are aware of this rule.  It is important to keep as much debris out of the lake as possible as it takes years for this to decay and break down.

The lake committee has met diligently this summer preparing more recommendations for the board.  These recommendations will be presented during the September meeting.  We look forward to their input as we have all worked hard and dedicated many hours of volunteer time to the betterment of the lake, our biggest asset. As we reflect on yet another beautiful Summer we are hopeful that we are making a difference.  This Summer we had buoys installed approximately one hundred feet from shore to give a safe distance from shoreline visual to boaters. These buoys not only increased shoreline preservation they also increased safety for kayakers, paddle boarders and swimmers around the lake.  Security was also ramped up on the holidays and weekends.  Our PSO did a great job during a challenging year of working with Allegan county to make sure our lake had patrol on high volume days.  We are thankful for another safe season and look forward to more improvements in the coming year.

I agree leaves should not be in the lake so the Park should trim trees that are overhanging the lake. Our boat is docked in front of site 0032 and there are several limbs that hang over the lake. I would appreciate it if the Park would trim these trees.
