COVID-19 Update

To our valued Sandy Pines Members and Community:

We are writing to provide an update to recent announcements made Sunday November 15, 2020 by the Governor and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) which will be in effect today for the next 3 weeks. The order is pausing certain gatherings and activities including work related activities when able to work remote. Sandy Pines has already put in place a COVID-19 Emergency Plan and Procedure which meets MIOSHA requirements. Sandy Pines’ leadership continues to work with representatives from the Allegan County Health Department (“ACHD”) and MIOSHA reviewing this requirement as well as return to work and normal operations process and procedures to protect the health and safety of our workforce and our Sandy Pines and Lake Monterey community. Below are actions Sandy Pines will be implementing effective Wednesday, November 18, 2020 through the next 3 weeks:

Administration Office will be closed. We have equipped the team to work remotely to respond to emails and voicemails. The team will not be able to accept walk-ins, appointments or other in-person member interaction. One staff member will be in the office each day of the week to receive mail, send mail and process member dues payments. Member dues payments can be completed on-line, placed in the drop box or mailed for processing.

Sales and Camping Office will be closed. The sales and camping team are also equipped to work remotely to continue moving forward with processing paperwork, updating listings, completing transfers, responding to camping reservations, answering voicemails and emails. The sales and camping team will NOT be able to do any showings or closings during this time.

Public Safety Office will be closed. Our public safety office is not equipped to work remote. However, we will continue to fully staff the PSO on all 3 shifts for 24-hour, 7 day per week monitoring, securing of our park and responding to medical and other calls on-site. The team will continue to meet the MIOSHA and MDHHS social distancing and workplace requirements. The PSO team will not be able to accept walk-ins, appointments or other in-person member interaction unless the interaction is of a medical nature.

Maintenance and Park Inspector will continue to work. Our Maintenance and Park Inspector are not equipped to work remote. However, we will continue to fully staff these departments to continue with the projects and maintenance of our park to keep operations flowing. The team will continue to meet the MIOSHA and MDHHS social distancing and workplace requirements. The Maintenance and Park Inspector will not be able to accept walk-ins, appointments or other in-person member interaction.

Lake Monterey Golf Course will be closed. The team is not equipped to work remote. We will have one staff member working at the golf course to continue projects and operational needs. The team will not be able to accept walk-ins, appointments or other in-person member interaction.

Committees and Other Meetings will need to move to remote capability. We still have committees and other meetings taking place during the off season. These will need to move to remote when possible.

We continue to work with the ACHD, MDHHS and MIOSHA to protect our staff and the Sandy Pines Community. We are better equipped and in a better place to meet our operational and member needs during this pause then we were last March 2020. We will provide the best assistance we can while working remote.

    Will the service fee to pay our due online be waived during this time period?

      At this time, we are unable to waive the 3% fee assessed when paying online or over-the-phone. However, if you were planning to pay in person, the drop box is still available for you to drop a check or money order. We are staffed for the drop box and mail to be checked and processed, Monday – Friday, during normal business hours. You can also utilize your bank’s online bill pay system; more members are opting for this and it works very well. Your 4-digit site number and last name are your account number; when you enter Sandy Pines as a vendor, include your account number. The address on your statement is the address to use. Thank you for your patience as we work through this together.
