Transfer of Membership Procedures
If you sell your site independently, the following steps must be completed with the Sales Office-
- Buyer Approval:
- The buyer(s) must be approved before the transfer fees are paid.
- The buyer(s) must submit a membership application and submit to a background check, which is a $75.00 fee.
- Approval typically takes 24 hours after payment.
- Seller’s Fees:
- Once the buyer is approved, the seller must pay a $2,000.00 seller transfer fee to initiate the process.
- This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable in the event the sale is not completed.
- Compliance Inspection:
- The Park Inspector will check for violations, read the electric meter, and mark site boundaries.
- All violations must be corrected within the date given by the Park Inspector.
- This process takes 7-10 business days after the seller transfer fee is paid.
- Buyer’s Fees:
- The buyer(s) must pay:
- $525.00 buyer transfer fee
- $500.00 per new membership capital contribution buy-in fee
- These fees are non-refundable and non-transferable in the event the sale is not completed.
- The buyer(s) must pay:
- Finalizing the Transfer:
- Once the buyer’s fees are paid, an appointment will be scheduled for the transfer.
- All parties must be present unless prior arrangements are made.
- Any outstanding balance on the seller’s account (including dues) must be paid at the time of transfer.
- If there is a lien on the trailer, a lien release note from the bank is required.
- Important Notes:
- Sandy Pines handles only the membership transfer. We do not manage payments, title transfers, or other aspects of the sale—these are handled privately between the buyer and seller.
- Boat Stake Retention:
- To retain a boat stake, the new member must provide a boat registration in their name at the time of transfer or within two weeks after.
- If not purchasing a boat, a Sandy Pines non-motorized boat sticker must be purchased.
- Transfers must be completed within 30 days.
